About AFLCA / Programs

Become a recognized exercise professional in the fitness industry with AFLCA certification! The AFLCA provides certifications in both exercise specialty leadership (Specialty Leaders) and personal training/individual fitness consultation (Certified Fitness Trainer) settings.
*Individuals must be 18 years of age to obtain certification

Our certifications are based on research, tailored for Alberta’s thriving exercise and health marketplace, and provide personal liability insurance.

We are nationally and internationally affiliated through the National Fitness Leadership Alliance and ICREPS. This means that our certifications meet both national and international recognized standards and follow industry leading practice. It also allows for certification transferability both nationally and internationally.

All AFLCA certified exercise professionals qualify to be registered on Fitdirectory.ca, the only Alberta register of exercise professionals recognized by the International Confederation of Registers for Exercise Professionals.

The AFLCA offers several programs to those who work with children, older adults and in other aspects of community service.
