We are looking for certificated independent fitness instructor contractors to provide leadership, support and guidance to YMCA patrons.

Position: Aquatic Fitness Instructor (Contractor Position)

YMCA Location: Shawnessy YMCA

Salary Range: $30 per class taught
(2-hour time allotment per class which includes class delivery, preparation, set up and take down)

Start Date: Immediately

End Date: December 31, 2020

• Aquatic Fitness Certification;
• Valid YMCA/AFLCA Group Fitness is required;
• Current CPR C certification (CPR recertified within the last 12 months);
• Registered Business Number;
GST number (if applicable);
• 2 million general liability insurance coverage;
• Three professional references;
• Evidence of a clear Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Search.

The independent Aquatic Fitness Contractor will lead fun and safe classes for YMCA members on behalf of the YMCA Calgary. All instructors are responsible for keeping up to date with certifications and continuing education credits. Instructors are expected to bring their knowledge and positive attitude to each class they teach.

Aquatic Fitness Contract Instructors will:
• Demonstrate exceptional customer service;
• Are knowledgeable of YMCA programs and services;
• Keep pool area clean and organized;
• Work as a team and communicate effectively with staff, volunteers and members in all situations;
• Attend all necessary YMCA training and ensure YMCA certifications remain up to date.
