The Fitness and Wellness team at Servus Credit Union Place is currently recruiting an Exercise & Wellness Associate to join them for a one-year term assignment.
This position’s key responsibilities are in the front-line delivery of customer service at the fitness & wellness desk, front line fitness program and service provision, and supporting daily operations of the fitness centre. This position will assist the Fitness Centre Coordinator in the coordination of all personal training and dryland sports conditioning requests. This position supports the provision of exceptional customer service and program opportunities in the area of fitness and wellness for the Servus Credit Union Place membership and casual users.

The position supports the Fitness Centre Coordinator with recruitment, orientation, scheduling, and training of 15 – 30 personal trainers and dry land conditioning instructors. The Associate will also provide personal training and group exercise instruction.

The individual we seek must have strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills. The role requires the ability to set priorities and balance a number of projects at the same time, problem solve, coach and lead a team of people to achieve results. We are looking for someone who has the creativity to lead and deliver outstanding fitness programs and services, with a high focus on customer service and customer retention in the area of personal fitness services.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Degree in Physical Education, Recreation, Kinesiology and 3 years experience or a related Diploma combined with 5 years experience.
• At least one-year of progressive supervisory experience, preferably within an emphasis on the areas of fitness service management and delivery, fitness and wellness programming.
CSEP-CPT (Certified Personal Trainer) or NSCA-CSCS designation is mandatory.
CSEPCEP (Certified Exercise Physiologist) and AFLCA Fitness Leadership would be considered an asset. Other related certifications will be considered.
• Certifications and designations that relate to the Fitness and Wellness area are assets.
• Current CPR-C and First Aid are mandatory.
• Proficient user of the Microsoft Office Suite and experience with Intellileisure or similar software.

HOURS OF WORK
Compressed work schedule of 72 hours bi-weekly. This is a Sunday through Thursday work schedule and will require flexibility to accommodate day and evening shifts.

COMPENSATION
$46,580 – $56,672 per annum. In addition, the City of St. Albert offers a comprehensive benefit package.

TERM
This is a one-year term position from September 23, 2019 – September 22, 2020, with a possibility of extension.
