The Glencoe Club is a private, family-oriented sports and social club located in the Elbow Park neighbourhood of Calgary, Alberta. Our facility boasts a full-service food & beverage department as well as eight sport facilities. These facilities include curling, bowling, skating, aquatics, squash, tennis, badminton and a new expansion that includes a climbing centre, a new fitness centre, an indoor playground, and a Pro Shop.

The Glencoe Club Aquatics Department is currently seeking an Aquafit Instructor to provide excellent instruction and service to our members while maintaining the standards of the Glencoe Club’s Aquatics Program in an environment that is safe, enjoyable, and positive.

Responsibilities:
• Ensure safe, motivating instruction for Members of a variety of skill levels
• Arrive 5 minutes prior to training sessions to allow time to prepare for the session.
• Promptly respond to injuries and emergency situations as stated in the Glencoe’s Emergency Manual. Complete an accident report for all injuries.
• Ensure the utmost standards and professionalism to all Members and staff at the Glencoe
• To arrange own coverage of classes utilizing The Glencoe Club Aquafitness instructor list.
• To provide information on The Glencoe Club activities and notices when required.
• To be available for feedback and education to those involved in the programs.
• To tidy up area and equipment after each class.
• To provide appropriate music for the population and class format for each class.
• Ensure you use the safety mat and microphone while teaching for your own safety.
• To provide input and assist the Glencoe Club in decision making regarding the administration and delivery of Aquafitness classes, the Aquatics Director will schedule occasional group meetings. Attendance at these meetings is expected but not mandatory, the meetings will provide opportunities for professional development and networking with other trainers as well as communication by the Aquatics Director regarding administrative issues that may affect the instructors.

Qualifications:
AFLCA/CALA or equivalent
• Standard First Aid/CPR C/AED Certification
• Previous aquatic experience is an asset
• A fun, energetic and engaging teaching style
• Excellent communication and customer service skills

This is a part time position consisting of less than 24 hours per week. The successful applicant must be available for a variety of shifts including weekday mornings from 8–11AM.

The successful applicant will be required to complete a Vulnerable Sector background check, and a Respect in the Workplace and Respect in Sport online certification.
