Are you a Personal Trainer looking for a flexible morning and evening work schedule?
Do you want to gain experience working n a world-class City of Edmonton Recreation and Fitness Centre?
Do you have the theoretical knowledge and communication skills to safely coach, correct and develop the physical health of others?

As a Personal Trainer, you will:

Provide 60 minute private (1 on 1) personal training sessions
Provide 60-minute semi-private training sessions (2–4 individuals)
Lead 2-hour Fitness Centre Orientation programs for adults and 3 hour Youth In Action programs for youth 12–15
Contact clients within 48 hours of being assigned to create a training schedule that suits your schedule and the client’s schedule
Ensure the safety of all clients
Provide encouragement and coaching to clients
Track and redeem personal training sessions
Submit timesheets
Submit invoices for payment
Other duties as required

AFLCA and any other credentials required/ Qualifications:
Completed one of the following current certifications or equivalent
CSEP – Certified Exercise Physiologist (CEP)
CSEP – Certified Personal Trainer (CPT)
NSCA – Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS)
AFLCA – Certified Fitness Trainer (CFT)
Completed diploma in Physical Education, Kinesiology or Human Kinetics; or in-progress or a completed degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology or Human Kinetics is considered as an asset

Experience in customer service and the ability to conduct oneself in a professional manner
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Demonstrated ability to conduct effective needs assessments
Experience related to exercise prescription is an asset
Interest and experience with exercise leadership and physical activity promotion
Valid First Aid and CPR Level C is a requirement of this position

Hire is dependent upon a Police Information Check including Vulnerable Sector check satisfactory to the City of Edmonton
Ability to work evenings and weekends
Candidates may be tested
Hours of Work: Up to 25 hours per week, ability to work evenings and weekends as required

– Individual Personal Training: $30.000– $41.000 (Hourly)
– Semi-Private Personal Training: $40.000 – $51.000 (Hourly)
