The YMCA of Northern Alberta is looking to fill multiple part-time Pre-School, Child and Youth Instructor positions at the following Edmonton locations: Jamie Platz Family YMCA, Don Wheaton Family YMCA, Castle Downs Family YMCA, William Lutsky Family YMCA.

The YMCA is a charitable, mission-based organization dedicated to the development of thousands of people in spirit, mind and body and the Child and Youth Instructor will provide quality instruction to youth members.
Compensation: An attractive compensation package.

Key Responsibilities:
• Facilitate high-quality age appropriate programs and activities for members.
• Integrate international development education in all program areas.
• Active supervision of Child and Youth members and volunteers during programming.
• Ensure a safe environment for all members, parents, volunteers and staff. Complete necessary safety documents enforce proper sign-in and sign-out procedures for parents, and follow head counts and maintain ratios.
• Contribute as a member of the staff team in the operation of the centre, and complete other duties as assigned.
• Demonstrate and promote a personal understanding of and appreciation for the mission, vision, and values and the YMCA programs and services. Role model a personal commitment to a healthy lifestyle.

Qualifications:
Education/Certifications/Credentials/Professional Registration
• Minimum age of 1
• High School Diploma an asset.
• Standard First Aid and CPR-C, Child Welfare & Police Security Clearance with Vulnerable Sector Search.
WHMIS Certification.
NCCP FMS Certification.
NCCP Level 1 or Level 2 an asset.

Experience
• Previous experience working with children an asset.
• Experience Playing and/or Coaching Basketball/Soccer/Floor Hockey/Volleyball

Knowledge/Skills/Attributes
• Well-developed interpersonal skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
