Lessons From the Heart Grade 7 – 12
Using Heart Rate Monitors in a fun, interactive format to educate youth about their heart health and how their body responds to physical activity. The workshop can be used by teachers as professional development or it can be delivered directly to students in class!
The Lessons From the Heart Program uses heart rate monitors to teach students and adults about how their heart responds to physical activity. The program allows students to be compared to their previous effort, rather than other students in their class. Lessons From the Heart can be directly linked with the outcome based physical education curriculum. Focusing on the area of Functional Fitness, many objectives can be achieved through the use of this heart rate monitor program.
This program also includes many crossover lesson plans to other subject areas including health, science, math, and english.
For more information on the Lessons From the Heart program including rentals, workshops and presentations, please call your local Be Fit For Life Resource Centre.
